01. Loopus López


Loopus López is a frantic arena survivor built in Unreal Engine 5 during the four-day GMTK Game Jam 2025. Our crew of four programmers, four artists, one designer, and one musician sprinted to deliver a looping combat experience full of exaggerated personality and reactive audio.

I engineered the enemy wave director: a C++ system that schedules spawns, escalates difficulty, and lets designers tune pacing without touching code. I also built the upgrade layer, covering UI flow, and the stat-modifier architecture.

Working under jam pressure pushed me to prototype fast while keeping pipelines tidy. Daily syncs with art and design kept scope realistic, and the debugging tools I scripted for balancing waves and power-ups were key to shipping a stable, punchy vertical slice within the deadline.
